In today’s world we face many new problems that we did not have 40 years ago, due to the increase in technology. Today we are fight problems such as Hacking, Internet Scamming as well as Catfish dating. Yet there is still a huge problem that we are facing that has been around since the late 30’s that has gone on without proper acknowledgement. How can something as simple as two human beings engaging in natural human desires lead to a problem? Well Younger and younger people are engaging into these activities known as SEX which lead to pregnancy in their teenage years. Teen Pregnancy effects absolutely everyone, Teen pregnancy affects the economy, the nation, the mothers and the fathers involved as well as the offspring. Teen pregnancy is literally becoming an epidemic nationally but more so locally. Oklahoma has one of the highest teen birth rates in the nation. Oklahoma was fourth highest among the other 49 states and the district of Colombia. Nationally there are 34 births per 1000 female adolescents ages 15 to 19. The average for Oklahoma female adolescents ages 15 to 19 is 50 to every 1000. The numbers of mothers becoming pregnant in their teenage years isn’t decreasing as much as Oklahoma representatives would like it to. Our state representatives are blaming this on the steady repetition of the cycle of pregnancy. Children are becoming pregnant with children who grow up to have children while they are still children themselves leading to a boom in teen pregnancy…
