Personal Narrative: When I Killed My Baby Brother

Great Essays
I want to tell you about the time when I killed my baby brother. Well that’s being a little dramatic, I didn’t actually kill him, I just sold him to the Magic Man. I never liked my little brother, Johnny, I was thirteen when he was born and I didn’t see why my parents needed another kid. Since the day he was born they completely ignored me and I was always left to be by myself. School was my escape; I could be with my friends there. My friend Lucy was always kind of weird. He laughed an ungodly laugh, “Oh child,” he hissed, “you can’t undo what has been done.” A devilish smile crept across his face, I felt my face start to burn as my anger started to rise. “You don’t understand; I need him back! I miss him!” My words started to flow out of me with a force I never knew I had. “I didn’t realize it before but I love him. Life isn’t the same without him, he might take my parents attention away from me, but I don’t want it as much as I thought. He contemplated what I was saying for what seemed like an eternity and finally spoke. “Since I can see you realized your mistake, I will give you back your brother. But, if I ever get called to this house again, I will take him and never give him back.” His words sent chills down my spine as I agreed to his terms. He pulled out a dilapidated satchel and reached his hand inside. I feared what was about to happen. Magic Man pulled out a heaping handful of what looked like glitter. It shone with the light of a thousand suns. With a flick of his wrist the dust went everywhere, that is the last I remember of the Magic
