Personal Narrative: Jimmie

Improved Essays
Jimmie While working at Wal-Mart, I met Jimmie. Jimmie was another brother who wasn’t worth my time. You couldn’t tell me this at the time though. I still had the mentality that I could change a brother. He didn’t look all that, but I figured maybe that was my problem always getting with the popular or attractive guys; maybe if I don’t really focus on looks, I will get a good brother. The reality that I know now is that you cannot change anyone that doesn’t want to change, and just because he is not that attractive doesn’t mean he will treat you well. Jimmie and I began chatting and spending our break time together. Eventually we started talking on the phone. I began to really like him, he was really funny and made …show more content…
I dropped TJ off at his mother's place and then the children and I went to see my parents off. We stayed at my parent’s house until they drove off. After they drove off, I told my baby brother Rob I’d check him out later. He was still in my parents place. He was supposed to be taking over their place. I drove back to TJ mom's place and allowed the children to chill over there for a little while. After some time, I was ready to go. I was ready to go home get dressed, go pick up my check, and go grocery shopping. TJ got in the car with us. I didn’t say anything, I just drove off and headed home. When we got back to my place, I put my phone on the charger and went to take a shower. Shortly after being in the shower, my phone ring. I heard TJ answer my phone. Jimmie was on the other end. I kept hearing T.J ask Jimmie who he was. Apparently he didn’t like Jimmie's response because TJ was getting heated. Jimmy must’ve been asking to speak to me as well, because I kept hearing TJ say he couldn’t speak to me. I got out the shower, wrapped the towel around me and went to see what was going on. When I came out the bathroom, T.J wanted to know who “Jim Jones” was. I didn’t say anything. I went and picked up our son and tried to leave out my room. T.J came behind me and grabbed me by my hair. I don't remember everything that was said at this point, I just remember telling TJ to let go. I remember telling him to stop because I was …show more content…
There is a knock on the bathroom door. I don’t answer. I’m not sure if it is TJ. My phone rings. It is the police letting me know they have arrived and they are at the bathroom door with my son. I opened the door, and was relieved to have my son back and to be free from TJ. The police followed me to my place so I could get some things. After I got a few things, I left my place and headed to my parent’s old place, now, my younger brother’s place. I called my brother. "Where you at?" I asked my brother when he answered the phone. He said he was out seeing if he could borrow something from one of his boys for my babies daddy. I told him to just go home. I told him I was headed over that way. I told him TJ wasn’t worth it. I told him I was cool

A plume of black smoke erupted from the front of the car, causing Dale to pull over. He parked the rust-covered vehicle on the side of the road and stepped onto the sand, obvious frustration covering his face. He walked around to the front of the car and cracked the rusted hood upwards, a giant explosion of smoke and the deafening grind of metal against metal filling the air. Dark clouds loomed over the gloomy hellscape, casting an array of shadows down onto the sandy plains.…

When we had gotten back to the house he went straight to work on firing up our charcoal grill so he could make dinner. (Grilling was something I had noticed he like to do to help take his mind off things.) Soon after, it wasn’t long before he seemed back to his old self, even joking about grilling up a couple of those cats from the cemetery and feeding them to the local dogs. I just ignored his lame attempt at being funny, electing to go to my room to retrieve my cell phone off its charger, and to my surprise, it had a voice message on it from Tucker, Owen, and Lettie. When I called them back I had gotten the tall-and-skinny on what had gone on in Saraland since I had left.…
