While facts were not used, the author used stories and experiences, logos, to prove to the reader that having the arts in schools is important for the young adults to grow as individuals. “Although some children do take music, dance, or painting lessons, many cannot afford it. The cost is prohibitive, and many students do not have time to go to lessons and complete all their school work.” By including this sentence in the paper, the author stresses the importance of arts in school where they are at the students reach, rather than just outside of school. The author of the paper also used pathos to prove their point that arts in school are important. “Many young people have trouble expressing their emotions in words, but find that the can communicate their ideas through music and art. Giving students an opportunity to create every day will keep them engaged in learning, keep frustration at bay, and lead to happier, more fulfilled children.” As one reads this sentence, their emotions are pulled out because they instantly want the students to be able to find and succeed at something they are good at.
