To start we talked about and decided that these classes are in fact beneficial to students who take them by teaching them life skills and lessons, but only students who want to take them. These fine art classes are filled with opportunities for the students to learn and do things that they might not have a chance to learn anywhere else. I told you that personally I didn’t think that it was a good idea to force students to take classes such as art and drama if they didn’t want to in the first place and I gave you two good reasons behind my opinion. First I pointed out that it would be as waste of money to force students to take classes that they didn’t want to take such as art and music. It’s hard enough to make students to pay attention in classes that are important to everyone such as math and history, but to have students take fine arts classes would be even more anti-productive. The money that would be used to pay the teachers to teach the class, to buy the supplies and to send students where they need to go to participate would be wasted if the students in the class didn’t want to be there; A waste of money that could be detrimental and easily avoidable.
