There’s people who believe in the same sex marriage and there’s people who oppose it. Many people view that marriage should be between a man and woman while others believe that everyone should have the right to marry whomever they love. Gay marriage has a major impact on today’s society’s, its legality and how it will be affected on the generations in the future. Half of America is for gay marriage because they want to see men and men and women and women happy together. It will decrease divorce rates, on average, same-sex couples divorced at an average rate of 1.1 percent annually between the two states, compared with 2 percent annually between heterosexual pairs. ( United States has one of the highest divorce rates compared to other countries. Allowing gays/lesbians to get married will increase marriages rates because less couples will get divorced due to disagreements or unproductiveness.
It will reduce youth suicide because One of the main reasons why teenagers are commit suicide are due to the child being bullied at their school as a result of his/her sexual orientation. The same acceptance that will come about due to legalizing gay marriage will show teens that homosexuality is accepted and respected in society. We need to explain to younger generations that being different is not a social disability, so that they will never feel the need to take their own lives because they are gay.
