Personal Narrative: My Growing Up In A Christian Family

As a kid, I grew up in a Christian home. My grandfather was a pastor and host of family members are ministers. I went to church three times a week. My parents had strict rules growing up. I was often teased in school for being the church girl. I was taught about God through my parent, bible and church. I realized my sinful nature when I attended high school. I started to rebel and hang out with the wrong crew. I was skipping school. I was even attending church, I was an usher and a choir member. I was simply attending church because my parents made me. When I turned a legal age, I was still attending church, merely not as often. At the age of 20, I planned nightlife events for celebrities and big groups. As my company grew, I didn 't go to church as much. My relationship with God was nearly non-existent. I was living my life on my own conditions. I started to drink, party and hang out with the wrong bunch. My family members would tell me about Jesus, but I didn 't want to find out about it. …show more content…
Anytime I will descend into sin, I was devastated. Romans 3:23 states “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God”. I developed a life of prayer and fasting. God took the taste of liquor out of my mouth and I gave up partying. As I continue to grow, I learned the true significance of repentance and ask God for forgiveness. The devil attempted to discourage me on multiple occasions, but I stayed with Christ and overcome every attack. I experienced spiritual growth since I dedicated my life to Christ. I received the holy spirit with the evidence of speaking tongues. Last year in the month of December, I was baptized. At my church, I am currently very active. I am the youth director, youth bible teacher, church greeter, church announcer, and choir member. God uses me to be a mouthpiece for the youth. I was capable to reach others by preaching at several youth
