In my adolescent years, I went through a couple of struggles before I became a Catholic. I became a Catholic when I was baptized as a little baby but then bad situations occurred and I missed out on being the Catholic I wanted to become as a little girl because my parents stopped taking me to church. As I grew up, I have always felt I had a something missing and I knew it was God’s love. When I hit freshman year in high school I found myself going back to the Catholic church with my Catholic friends. Although, there was something holding me back from fulfilling my desire of going back to church because I had to do it on my own. As a 14 year old girl I was terrified of being loved by God because of all the years I had missed out on him. It all …show more content…
Now I am an active member of St Joseph Catholic Church, I’m in the choir, I attend mass every sunday, I volunteer to read the readings, I take up the gifts and I do kids liturgy. I also got chosen to be in the St Joseph Catholic retreat team and now we're in the process of planning the retreat that will be held at the church. Being so involved with my church has made me the person I am today, I love who I’ve become in the past three years. I was chosen out of so many to represent the youth group as a youth group leader to help other teenagers who are struggling to find God’s love. I finally feel like I belong somewhere and I now I know I am loved by so many. I volunteered in everything I could've because I felt that I would get a better understanding of the Catholic Faith by putting myself out there. I am beyond blessed to have my Catholic faith and friends throughout my long journey. My Catholic Faith is very strong, I believe I had to go through many different obstacles to actually see the beauty of God’s love and power. Now I can stand on my two feet and truly reflect on my past and be very grateful for all the situations that occurred during my high school years because without the struggles I wouldn't be where I am
