The Importance Of A Christian Worldview
When looking at this question with a Christian worldview means looking at the bible. According to Genesis 1:27, “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” This text means that to be human we are God-like sense we were created by Him in His image. Are humans more important than animals? As humans, we are superior to animals, in fact, “claiming that animals are the same as people only ends up devaluing human life” (Gaylord). A few examples of this is the fact that Jesus died for people and for their sins, not for animals. In Genesis 1 God gave domain to man over all the animals and he was to give them a name. In order to complete the Great Commission we are told to, “make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:19-20). Every person has a specific meaning and purpose to why they were placed on the earth, but every person’s broad purpose on this earth is to make disciples that make disciples.
Right and wrong, this is a concept that every person learns through their life. In order to tell if something is “right” or “wrong” they must turn to the bible. If the bible dies not touch on the topic that is in question the person must then turn to prayer. There is no answer to what is right and what is wrong without careful studying and prayer. If we do not know what is considered “right” and what is considered “wrong” then how will we know how to live? Colossians 1:17 tells us that our actions must honor and glorify God, If it does not honor and/or glorify God than we must not do
