Worldview
A worldview is a complete outlook of the world according to an individual’s unique vantage point. It is a person’s worldview that aids them in developing the beliefs, choices, and opinions that they will have about life and everything in it. Worldview can be described like a classic piece of art. Many people from all over the world can come to an exhibit at the Metropolitan in New York and see the same exhibit, but when asked what they saw or how they felt about the piece, every answer would differ because of cultural, social, and even educational influences they have had concerning art. The same can be said about someone’s worldview. How an individual is raised as a child, the conditions they had to live in, and the people surrounding them throughout their life, can all be factors in creating the unique vantage point from which a person derives their worldview. 166
Biblical worldview gives us the understanding that God is the source of all life. “God is said to have created ex nihilo, "out of nothing."” (Online Text Book). How else can mankind glorify God more than to know Him, and in the Christian worldview, have a close personal relationship with the Creator of the universe through faith in His son Jesus Christ (John 17:3). Knowledge of God.” (Knowing God; Packer 35).
