Balance. I never considered myself to be the most balanced person and honestly as a parent I still don 't. As you might already know, the life of a parent is very unpredictable, fast, nonstop and leaves you at the edge of your seat. Between cooking, cleaning, baths, Dr. appointments, playtime, work, ministry, practice, and many other things, where do you find consistent balance in the midst of all that? I wanted to start a series that emphasized the real struggle of parents trying to manage most facets of their lives, which falls into one word, Balance. I had a hard time trying to find the right title for this series and what kept coming to me was Balancing Act. I have heard this term before but wanted to know what the proper definition was for it. I searched it up on Google and this is what it said, an action or activity that requires a delicate balance between different situations or requirements. Does that sound like a life of a parent? I think so. Please don 't think for one moment that by writing about this topic that I have figured it all out and that my life is as balanced as it can be, I just want to share what I 've learned the last two years and am still learning today and hopefully it can be of help to a father out there. God put them in your life for a reason. As a father do what you feel is best and right for you kids but don 't be afraid of change. Balance and routine are great things and I encourage it but don 't be afraid to break out of it from time to time. Also don 't ever let anything get in the way of spending quality time with your kids. You think it might not have value but to them it does. Trust me, I know a thing or two about not having a dad around (which I will cover in future topics to come). At any given day things can get out of balance but it 's OK it 's is a part of parenting and it is a life long journey of learning and more

Although there are some cons involved there are far more pros to make up for them. Homeschooling is not for everyone and that is perfectly fine. If one chooses to homeschool, they must make sure they have the time, patience and dedication so that they can ensure their child gets the proper education they need. The parent will also need to make sure they are constantly on top of things to ensure the educational gaps and social gaps do not occur. With these qualities and dedication, homeschooling is possible and so worth…

Good parents accept their children for who they are, they don’t try to change anything about them. For example, if a young teenage boy realizes one day that he is attracted to boys, his parents should support that. His parents shouldn’t turn their back away from their child. Children should never feel judged by their own parents. Good parents also let their children live the way they want to and provide guidance the whole way.…

This advice demonstrates how regardless of any situation, Odysseus still expects Telemachos to never dishonor the family loyalty, because Telemachos sees that his family loyalty is crucial for his honor.
