There are many types of hygiene factors of The Container Store. According to Ferrell, Hiat, and Ferrell (n.d), hygiene factors is an aspect of Herzberg's theory of motivation that focus on the work setting and not the content of the work; these aspects include adequate wages, comfortable and safe working conditions, fair company policies, and job security. First full year employees receive 263 hours of training to ensure they are set up in the beginning for success. The average for normal other retailers is approximately 10 hours of training for their new employees. This would explain why The Container Store has a low 10 percent turnover versus other retailers turnover of 100 percent turnover. The Container Store pays their employees 50
