Managers very quickly become disinterested in their new employees once they’ve finished with the training process. The training process requires only 5 shifts; the first two shifts are strictly shadowing shifts, where the new hire follows around an “expert” in that position. The third and fourth shift require the new hire to start participating while being very closely monitored by their trainer that will provide feedback and help. On the final shift, the new hire is thrown into the job in a stress test manner to see how they will react on their own. Unfortunately, at the Oakview Applebee’s location, we see a lot of new hires quitting before their training is even finished. This points to a major flaw in our training
