Standards and Procedures

Be Kind and Compassionate
Treat everyone well. Be a positive part of someone’s day. You don’t know what someone else is going through, so be kind and compassionate. If you have an opportunity to make someone smile, do it. Treat your co-workers with the same respect and dignity you treat the people we serve. Embrace diversity and refrain from gossiping, harassment, and bullying.

Alcohol and Substance Abuse
Employees may not report to work under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs. They may not consume alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs while on the premises or have any in their possession while they are working. Employees who find they might have a substance abuse problem are encouraged to speak to the human resources manager about available treatment options.

Email reminders about company policy are also sent to staff on a monthly basis. Employees working in the public area are under video surveillance primarily for their safety, but the footage can also be used as evidence if an accusation of misconduct is made.

Auditing Employee Misconduct
Employees will be subject to a drug test once a year. The time of the drug test will not be disclosed to the employees until the week it is to be conducted. The drug screening will be administered by a trained outside source. If an employee is injured while working they will also be required to take a drug test.

Reporting Employee Misconduct
Employees are encouraged to go to their supervisor with any concerns about misconduct they feel they have witnessed. If the employee is uncomfortable speaking to their supervisor, they may confidentially report any misconduct to the human resources manager.
