Whether you’re in a hotel or restaurant your business may be among the many workplaces affected by substance abuse. Studies that have been conducted indicate than around 70% of an estimated 14.8 people who use illegal drugs are employed. However, there are some resources that are available to develop a drug free workplace policy in your establishment. Federal law requires individuals who receive a contract or grant must agree not to engage in the unlawful manufacture, distribution, possession or use of a controlled substance in the performance of their federal contract. (Pohlid, 2016)
