The Container Store Motivates Employees

The Container store has various ways that it motivates it's employees. The Container Store's CEO KIP Tindell states, " The first 25 percent for any employee is mandatory. If they don't do that, they're are going to get fired. But the next 75 percent of an employee's productivity for any business in the world, believe, is more or less voluntary. You do more or less of it depending upon how you feel about your boss and your product and your company".(Ferrell, Hirt, Ferrell, 2009) This basically means that as long as the theories of motivation are met, employees will be motivated to perform better. Part time employees at the Container Store are eligible for health insurance, which is a big deal for a lot of families that do not qualify for Medicaid
