Evidence suggest that the first year of nursing practice is challenging for many new graduate nurses, particularly as they strive to build confidence in their professional practice (Pfaff, Baxter, Jack, & Ploeg, 2014). It is suggested that most academic programs provide limited opportunities for nursing students to develop a sense of confidence in inter professional collaboration (Olson, 2009; Pfaff et al., 2014). However, my previous and current professional experience has given me the ability to relate to my team in a manner that promotes the delivery of positive outcomes to my patients. I have enhanced this quality particularly during my clinical placements at ward 6 West in Calvary Private Hospital where it was necessary to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to achieve set goals and to satisfy the unique and complex needs of patients. My outstanding collaboration, interpersonal and communication skills will also assist to develop and maintain strong relationships with members of my team.…
