The Social Benefits Tribunal’s website is a great resource but it mostly explains how the tribunal’s procedure works and less on what the tribunal actually is. I was able to overcome my difficulties by widening my search and looking at the enabling legislation, The Ontario Works Act and the Ontario Disability Support Program Act. Both acts explained their purpose and how it related to the Social Benefits Tribunal. For example, the Ontario Works Act provides assistance to employees and the Social Benefits Tribunal gives people the opportunity to appeal a decision to deny these benefits. Another difficulty was organizing the material I had found. My role in the group was finding general information about the Social Benefits Tribunal, and the types of matters it deals with. I had to ensure that I organized my slides so that I was presenting only relevant
