Social networking sites have been being considered as an astonishing invention in today’s modernised era. Do you know the population of social networking site’s users? “The users around the world were 1.47 billion in 2012 and will be 1.73 billion this year with 18% of escalation, also it is expected to reach 2.55 billion by 2017”-emarketer report. The popularity of social networking sites is mounting leaps and bounds among all walks of life. On other hand, it has its own positive and negative side. However, Social networking sites have dominated people’s life in a positive way by introducing innovative learning style in education and by providing the facility of personal and professional networking, but in contrast it has negative side of spreading violence.
In this fast paced life, social networking sites play vital role in today’s educational system with group study and e-learning. According to Wodzicki et. al. (2012), social networking sites enable the students to get rid of conventional learning style of education and give new learning platform so they become more lively towards their study. This means that study on social networking sites makes them more intriguing towards their study. Moreover, cooperative work builds competitive environment to motivate and inspire them for study more and more to acquire good grades among their classmates.
