Social media has taken a huge role in this generation. Without it, we wouldn’t be updated of the new software, or the newest high end gadget, the latest fad and mostly, we would be able to connect with our friends and loved ones. Although social media connects us to people, it also disconnect us from living our life to the fullest because it take away one’s privacy, it refrains one from actual interaction, it encourage laziness and it tolerates a generation of a brag culture.
First, I will start on how social media steals our personal information. We identify ourselves in our social media profile may it be on facebook, instagram or twitter. We write our names, we post our birthdays, display our photos and for some, we put our addresses. We have made it so easy for strangers to access us and our information. Sometimes, do I even ask myself if someone would remember my birthday if not for my facebook profile reminding my friends? Yes, yes I do.

It makes us get used to getting things in an instant which leads us to having a decreased attention span. Another disadvantage is that it restrains us from practicing our thinking skills. We search our question on Google and with blink of an eye, we get our answers.
