Social media is pretty significant in our modern day era. There are many professors and specialist with mixed feelings regarding social media. Some say it creates new opportunities for social interactions, boosts self, and others saying it can potentially cause depression & envy. With this in mind currently, there are roughly 2.5 billion people using social media (ProCon, 2016). The usage of social media can be a good thing or possibly having a negative effect on our well being. However, the side effects of social media mostly depend on the user.

The negative effects of social media have been well documented by many researchers. Such as social media causing depression, envy, cyberbullying, suicidal, and so on. However, more & more scholars and therapist begin to propose a different point of view: They’ve found out that social media may also improve mental health. Such as boosting self-esteem, increase in self-confidence, emotional backup, and more. These
