According to Stogdill, leadership is defined as “the process of influencing the activities of an organized group in its efforts toward goal setting, and goal achievement” (Stogdill, 1950). Management is a process of maintaining and designing an organization where individuals work efficiently together in groups to accomplish organizational goals and objectives (Krontz & Weilhrich, 2003)
The majority of leadership theories are based on the perspective of relationship, trait characteristics, behaviour and skills. The most common Theories of Leadership are: Great Man Theory, Traits Theory, Behavioural and Style Theories, Situational and Contingency Theories, Functional Theories and Transactional and Transformational Theories (Leadership-Central,

It is established that the leaders are responsible for creating a structure of clarity as to what is expected and should be done, while the followers meet these expectation otherwise they would be reprimanded. (Wolinski, 2017).
Transformational theory concept was first introduce by James Mcgregor Burns in 1978 and defined as "a process where leaders and followers raise to higher levels of motivation and mortality". There are four characteristics associated with a leader in this theory: inspiration, individual consideration, intellectual stimulation and charisma. These qualities are still practice by many organization and leaders to date (Wolinski, 2017).
The leadership theories most beneficial for the London Nursing Home are a combination of Situational, Transactional and Transformational theory. Situational theory deals with issues related to high employee turnover rate. Transactional theory deals with power and making sure that the most suitable candidates are elected without favouritism. Transformational theory involves managers developing, delegating and coaching employees about clinical standard care, protocols and guidelines. This forms the cornerstone of employee development and performance. My growth within my current post made me acquire the relevant skills and knowledge to evolve. My attributes enable me to carry out my duties effectively with necessary training and development needed to manage conflicts, communicate and follow rules and regulations. I am able to enhance a plausible relationship with my fellow colleagues as a result of this.
I work within the NHS where management assign task contributes to my knowledge, development and career growth. However, managers don’t always consider the three stages of recruitment when recruiting. A job would be advertised but supply forecasting would not be considered due to the fact that an associate or family member of the manager is assigned to the post, thus providing a negative impact on my view of the
