Did you know that “over 100 million animals are burned, crippled, poisoned, and abused in US labs every year”(“11 Facts About Animal Testing”)? Animals testing is the experimental, research, and testing of animals to help seek the different affects a product can have on someone. Many animals are abused daily to ensure the safety of cosmetics, medicine, and other products. They are also used to see if there are any side effects in a product, while also making sure they are safe for people to use. The testing of animals should be banned everywhere because it is unethical due to what information is being kept from the people, archaic because we have better alternatives to testing new products , as well as why some people believe it shouldn’t be banned. When you think about how animal testing labs are actually being funded many would be disgusted. The most unethical way of funding a lab would be to make people believe they are helping another organization, but really it is going to something else. Today our animal testing labs are being funded by our taxes, donations, and other purchases without people even knowing it. Why should our taxes go to a place that is harming animals? In the article “The Ethics of Medical Testing” it was stated that certain charities “including the March of Dimes, the American Cancer Society, and countless others—use donations to fund experiments on animals”(“Using Animals”).
