Why Shouldn T Animal Testing Be Allowed

Improved Essays
Animals all around the world are used for testing and research. People always wonder why people use animals. They ask why would scientist put these innocent creatures through something horrible. It has been proven that scientist use about 100 million animals for testing and research each year. From personal research, I have seen many inhumane things happen to these creatures that should not happen. People, especially scientists, are hurting innocent animals that did no harm to anyone. Animal testing shouldn't be allowed to happen because animals are getting hurt, they are not protected, and animals get mistreated.

One reason that animal testing shouldn’t be allowed is because animals are getting hurt. For instance, the Draize eye test involves rabbits having their eyelids clipped open for as long as multiple days so that they don’t blink the product being tested away. Popular cosmetic brands like L'oreal, Lancome, Estee Lauder, and S.C. Johnson are used on animals. These

A possible concern is that over 100 million animals- mice, rats, frogs, dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, monkeys, fish, and birds- are used for research and experiments each year. These animals are forced to test poisoning for burning skin, toxicity testing, causing brain damage, and many other horrible tests. The innocent creatures are harmed and sometimes killed in the process. On the other hand, scientists are doing these many different types of tests to learn more about health problems that affect both humans and animals. Since animals are biologically related to humans, it makes them good research subjects. Scientists are also able to easily control the animal’s environment (temperature, lighting, diet, etc.). Even though animals may be seriously abused because of animal testing, they also help with finding serious health

Research on animals has been practiced since around 500 BC. Animals are used to help improve medical treatments, determine toxicity in medications, and check safety in human products and other biomedical, commercial, and health care uses. Almost every medical breakthrough in the last one hundred years has been caused by using animals for research purposes. To this day, people argue if animals are being put through agony and pain…

In the first place, animal testing is exceedingly cruel and inhumane to animals. Scientists that test on animals while following the US law burn, cripple, abuse, poison, addict to drugs, isolate, starve, and drown over 100 million animals in US labs per year. Many animals are killed soon after scientists are done testing on them. Consequently, some animals become so stressed out that they start actually biting and ripping parts of their own body off.…

Not only are the facts present that animal testing is not a viable way to do research, but it also is morally wrong. Animals are isolated in their cages all day and then are subjected to torture which includes being injected with different chemicals, sprayed in the eyes with cleaning products, irritated to the point of skin lesions, and ultimately euthanized at the end of the research. How can we keep doing this to animals when we know that there are better ways out there that would save so many animals lives? There are plenty of different kinds of research that can be done that will save the lives of animals and also give more accurate results.…

Animal testing is the human act of using lively, conscious animals to test products, not caring what the aftermath may be. According to peta.org, more than 100 million animals are slaughtered in U.S. laboratories. Those that have the heart to inflict this type of brutality do this immobilizing them in restraint devices for hours, drilling holes into their skulls having their spinal cords crushed. (peta.org). Other than the physical atrocities that humans are forcing vulnerable animals into, they are also isolated from their own kind, confined to barren cages, and therefore, become severely traumatized.…

In order for many everyday products such as cosmetics, chemicals, and medical methods to be greenlit for human consumption, they need to be examined and tested. Before being let out on a wide market, it needs to be assured that these products will accurately work and not be harmful. For this, instead of using humans to test potentially damaging products, animals are initially used. Some people can argue that animal testing is immoral, but these people cannot deny that there would be a greater uproar if humans were the testees. Even though it is immoral and unethical to test on animals, it’s even more so with humans.…

While it is not easy to obtain precise data, it's getting videos or pictures is quite difficult as out of the tests are done in closed laborers with limited access for people. It is quite unethical that several animals are poisoned, devocalized, burned, starved, made crazy, mutilated, brain damaged, frozen and are subjected to electric shocks without or partial anesthesia. Although animal experimentation has provided many benefits, there are alternatives to test toxic substances that may eliminate the cruel use of animals in research. The United States, along with many other countries, have turned to the use of animals in research labs to test human products for hazardous substances. According to the Kennedy Institute of Ethics Journal, the United States uses about 12 million animals every year making it the biggest conductor of animal experimentation in the world. Scientists and many companies believe that testing their products on animals save humans from being harmed if the product is toxic. However, no matter what the benefits of animal experimentation are, the tests conducted on the animals are cruel.…

Why Animal Testing Should Be Banned Everyday innocent animals are being forced into labs and tested for human research advancement. Cruelty Free International states how approximately 115 million animals, including rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, mice, dogs and monkeys are used in dangerous laboratory experiments every year. In fact, many of the experiments are said to be useless tests, as stated, “The reality is that the majority of animal experiments do not contribute to improving human health, and the value of the role that animal experimentation plays in most medical advances is questionable” (“Animal Testing is Bad Science”). Misconceptions by the media may stretch the idea how animal testing can cure diseases, illnesses etc.. But actually, as emphasized, animal testing is an inefficient way of finding medical advances, making the procedures to be unnecessary and making there be no reason to force animals into labs without a choice, it's blatantly a waste of animals lives.…
