Reorganizing the changing needs in a global world, employees and counselors work together within companies in order to increase production and job performance. Studies show that career guidance counselors offer growth assistance, solve problems related to ones career, teach skills necessary to promote from within, work with employees whom may have personal issues such as with family that affect their job performance, and insure careers match the interest and changing interests of their employees. As a result, employees are happier, learn skills to promote from within the organization. Business organizations and employees have to be more flexible. It is in the businesses best interest to have a business support system. In order for career guidance counselor to be successful in business, they must be willing to shift their practices, span out into new generation technology and understand the changes in the workforce as well as, changes in a global society. Subsequently, a career guidance counselor who uses the same methods and are not in touch with the “new” workforce and technology will not be an asset to any business or corporation. Weaknesses career guidance counselors will face include competition, and an unstable market as well as unpredictable people in the workforce. A career guidance counselor who does not understand this will not be competitive and unable to bring success to themselves, others, and the business industry. The future of a Career Guidance Counselor will indeed flourish if they understand the challenges and people of the next generation. Counselors in businesses will like guidance counselors in schools, providing services to better the company and improve people skills.
