Every generation has been giving gifts. So what are America's gift to my generation? I believe our founding fathers wanted to give every American generation freedoms that they never had before. Two freedoms that I believe that are very important to me are, “The Right to Bear Arms“ and “Freedom of Religion, Speech, and Assembly”
The Right to Bear Arms, that was written as the Second Amendment to the US Constitution, gives every American the right to have and carry guns. With war and conflicts in other countries, and with all the violence, markings, break-ins, robberies, and assaults, people need to carry a gun to protect themselves. I believe that if more people carrying guns, and defended themselves, these acts would go away. The Second Amendment, that was written in the Constitution, allows people to have guns for self-defense, especially during the non-military time.
People who bear arms, or carry concealed weapons, make better American individuals. Once again, the second amendment that was written in the Constitution, excludes citizens from bearing arms that have a history of criminal acts against a community or a person. Today, in order to carry or have a weapon, a person has to go through a federal background check, and have to pass a gun safety class. How many people believe owning or carrying guns causes more gun violence, people should still have the right to protect themselves from danger.
The Freedom of Speech, Religion, and Assembly Amendment that was written in the US Constitution gives every American right to speak out, to worship their own religion, and to protest against things they don’t like. People in other countries do not have this right and are fearful that if they ever said anything, in public or private, they would be arrested, jailed, or worse, killed. Our constitution guarantees every American that they can say what is on their minds, in public or private, without fear of punishment
