It may seem as if GVRO violates the Second Amendment. It allows police to confiscate an individual’s firearms, but this is only done if a judge has reasonable belief that the suspect could harm themselves or others. The bill does not allow law enforcement to take away other people’s guns within the same household without the owner’s permission, and in most cases it does not allow police officers to take away guns of the suspect until a trial has occurred.
