My Personality Analysis

The analysis results from the various self-assessments have afforded me the opportunity to notice hidden aspects about myself. I have been able to perform contemplative and thorough self-examinations of my personality in order to determine viable methods to enrich my overall personality. It has been my experience that organizational behavior in many ways are similar to the institutionalized behaviors exhibited by those in orphanages or prisons. The similarities reside in the fact that the workplace is an environment where people from very different cultures, socioeconomic backgrounds, ethnicities and religious beliefs find themselves compartmentalized into an environment, directed towards a new way of life and then ordered to play nice …show more content…
I have also been interested in analyzing in depth aspects of my behavior in order to determine what makes me tick. In my quest for self-actualization I have often engaged in quite a few behavioral analysis and measurements tests to assist in my pursuit for growth. The feedback received through the Prentice Hall’s Self-Assessment tests granted me with great insight of the varying levels of my professional disposition.
Values and Attitudes and Insights
The results of my assessment related to Values and Attitudes and Insights, determined that I am a person who enjoys introspection, logic and judgement. I found the results to be in sync with the Jungian 16-Type Personality test results which labeled me as an INTJ (Introverted, Intuitive, Thinking, and Judging) personality type. Additionally, the Prentice Hall’s Self-Assessment test results mentioned that those who highly value structure, self-respect and security over comfort and creativity resemble those in leadership or managerial positions. Also, in tandem, the results of my instrumental values are in sync with management as well. The results relate to high value I place upon truthfulness and dependability. During a journal article review, it is mentioned that the personality of a project manager can have a huge impact on the success or failure of a planned projects. The journal article study highlights many of the personality traits that would make for a better project manager, many of the traits, ironically are not related to those I strongly possess. This is why I consider growth through training and personally study to be paramount. Bevilacqua, et al (2014) research findings mentions “A person may simply need some training to become proficient at using a less preferred dimension of their personality. This training would allow them to better use another facet of their personality and thus to manage projects more accurately.” This brings me to the point of mentioning that there is always room for growth and enlightenment. The personality assessment and analysis has encouraged me to find ways to become more harmonious and understanding of those who do not possess the same personality traits as I, in order to become more relatable and well-rounded professional
