After taking the Myers-Briggs Personality Test, I discovered that I am an ISFJ. I believe that this personality type accurately represents my personality, except for the ‘F’ in the typology. After learning from the lecture, I believe that I am an ISTJ. Each aspect of the ISTJ fits my preferences in learning and in my relationships with others. The ‘I’ in the classification above stands for “Introverted.” I am definitely an introvert. I “recharge” by thinking, writing, and spending time on my own. Being around people wears me out. I always look forward to the hours in which I can spend time on my own. I prefer to have details about a subject before beginning it, and I am more comfortable with direct instruction than vague guidelines. The ’S’ in the typology stands for …show more content…
In regard to my learning style, I excel at memorization. I enjoy learning as much as I can about a subject; only after obtaining a vast amount of knowledge do I feel comfortable in making projections about the subject. The ’T’ in the typology stands for “Thinking.” The correlating letter is ‘F,’ which stands for “Feeling.” The two differ in their focus on things and truths (Thinking) or people and harmony (Feeling). After learning more about the two types in the lecture, I believe that I am more of a Thinker than a Feeler. However, I use both in relating to others and in learning. As a thinker, I find social graces hard to remember, follow, and respond to. I prefer to be “business-like” in my interactions with others. On the other hand, I enjoy personal connections with others, and I enjoy having deep connections with others. I enjoy encouraging others, but at the same time I value fairness and justice. I learn best when I am praised by those around me, however, I also need to feel that I am being challenged before I can praise myself. The ‘J’ in the personality type

The purpose of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) personality inventory is to make the theory of psychological types described by C. G. Jung understandable and useful in people's lives. The essence of the theory is that much seemingly random variation in the behavior is actually quite orderly and consistent, being due to basic differences in the ways individuals prefer to use their perception and judgment. "Perception involves all the ways of becoming aware of things, people, happenings, or ideas. Judgment involves all the ways of coming to conclusions about what has been perceived. If people differ systematically in what they perceive and in how they reach conclusions, then it is only reasonable for them to differ correspondingly in…

I took the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) questionnaire which provides indicators of how people perceive the world, why they do the things they do the way they do and how they make decisions. My results after taking the MBTI came up with the letter representation of ISTJ which the website 16personalities.com coins as “The Logistician”. This places me in the same company with notable people such as Sting, Denzel Washington, Angela Merkel and Natalie Portman. The website also goes on to say how ISTJ types are a no nonsense type people and they rely of facts to support their decisions. I do believe this personality type does reflect me very well since many of the descriptions are very relevant to me such as having very little tolerance to…

The Myers-Briggs Test Indicator, or the MBTI, is a self-inventory designed to identify a person’s personality type, strengths, and preferences (Cherry, N/A). A woman named Isabel Myers and her mother, Katharine Briggs, composed this list of questions based on their work with a psychoanalytic psychologist, Carl Jung’s, theories on personality types (Cherry, N/A). After taking the test, people are told to have one out of sixteen personality types, and four out of eight personality traits. These personality traits are extroversion, sensing, thinking, judging, introversion, intuitive, feeling, and perceiving. After overviewing the analysis myself, I’ve found that, with my results, I am an ISFJ.…

The Myers-Briggs personality indicator is used to indicate a person’s preferences based on Carl Jung’s studies. The personality indicator categorizes people into 16 categories using the following parameters, Introversion vs. Extroversion, Intuiting vs. Sensing, Thinking vs. Feeling, and Judging vs. Perceiving. For each of these types, there are careers in which individuals will excel and other careers in which they would miserably fail. We took our favorite Game of Thrones characters, dead or alive, and assigned them to a Myers-Briggs personality type. From there, we assigned what we felt would be a career in which they would be successful if they were working alongside us.…

I discovered that I am an ESTP which stands for extravert, sensory, thinking, and perceiving. The type that was assigned to me was fairly accurate, especially when I compared it to past decisions I have made and experiences I have had. Reading about my MBTI preferences has caused me to understand certain aspects in my life more clearly. I have realized how my personality connects with how I become stressed, make decisions, manage my time, and act in relationships.…
