Myers Briggs Identity

Many things describe my identity. I have figured out two distinctive ones however. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator plays a large role in my identity, because I have a very different personality compared to my peers. Therefore it interests me when I am told what my likes and dislikes are. Which also corresponds to why Learning styles impacts my identity. Most of the time I cannot tell what will help me and what won’t. Trial and error has been very common in my education and even my life in the past years. Which is why I like being told exactly what would lead me to success and achievements without having to question myself. This concept allows you to further explore and understand your own personalities including your strengths, weaknesses, possible career preferences, and compatibility with other people. The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator shows your likes and dislikes. The main goal of this test is to help you learn more about yourself that you couldn’t realize on your own. Based on answers to the questions on the inventory, people are identified as having one of 16 personality traits. By taking this personality survey I have learned that I have a moderate preference of Extraversion over Introversion. I have a moderate preference of Judging over Perceiving. I have a moderate preference of Intuition over Sensing. I also have a slight preference of Feeling over Thinking. This quiz has changed the way I look at myself because now I can try and overcome things like putting my feelings before actually thinking out something. Some theories state that we learn best through either kinesthetic methods, auditorily or visually. Most learning-style advocates would agree that all individuals develop and practice a mixture of styles as they live and learn.This concept shows you the way you learn. What type of learning will lead to most success can be answered within this concept. Carl Jung noted major differences in the way people perceive intuition, the way they make decisions, and how active or reflective they were while interacting. After doing this Survey I have learned that I am a tactile learner. I learn better doing hands on activities , through the sense of touch. It says I like to take things apart af then put them back together again. By taking this test I can now put my results into my life to help me succeed. I know now that my brain works in a way, that I always need a solution. This quiz has changed the way I view my identity because now I have hard evidence on what activities and tools that I should use to be successful in life. The concept of learning styles relates to my identity because I take not only school but also learning very seriously. Most people cannot pinpoint what way of learning works best for them.
