My career in health care began 20 years ago in various areas of patient care (receptionist, claims analyst, medical assistant, case management and critical care nurse). For many years, I observed how many healthcare professionals often overlook patients’ lifestyle, spirituality, and the role it may play in their health care. To feel better equipped to address these needs in my work with patients, I completed in 2005 a BSN degree from the Florida Gulf Coast University School of Nursing (FGCUSN).
