I’ve always had different ideas for a future career path, but as I get older the options slim because I’m figuring out my passions in life. Last year, I decided to take a leap and apply to Pre-Nursing. I’m from High Point, NC and I attended Wesleyan Christian Academy. I am very fortunate for my parents sacrificing to pay for my education at Wesleyan because it is a college preparatory school. Wesleyan has prepared me for college in many ways that I am so thankful for. In the contrary, I’ve had countless people discourage the idea of becoming a nurse because of the difficulty getting into nursing school. It was hard to hear the negativity about the career path I am choosing but I’m turning it into positivity and motivation to succeed.
This semester, I plan to start my college career strong, and get exceptional grades to help my GPA. In high school, I was always an A or B student but I didn’t as hard as I should have. As I take Chemistry this semester, I plan to pay attention as much as possible and study in my free time. I want to believe that I can be a nurse, but I first have to put in the work to do so. While taking HAHS-1000, I’m going to listen carefully and take in every piece of advice I can. I think achieving a goal is so much more than just grades. I believe the journey to reach the goal is extremely important to experience. It builds a person into who they are and who they will be in the future. I think making the right friends, study groups, activities, will help me become the nurse I want to be. Academically, I want to be strong and confident in the classroom the whole year. I know at times I will be confused on the subject of that class but if I take the initiative to ask questions, I will grow in my knowledge and as a
