Reflective Essay: Respect The Work And The Process

Over my lifespan, change has been a word that I have enjoyed experiencing or talking about. I have not been the best at inviting change into my life and allowing it to have a positive impact. Through my eyes, change was accompanied by feelings of confusion, sadness, or even pain. From this perspective, I attempted to shy away from the word change as much as humanly possible. With that being said, I feel as if I have struggled to find who I truly am and what I stand for. I have continuously been content with what has gone on around me that I forget to open my eyes and see what else there could be. Having the tremendous opportunity to experience this course helped me change and realize that there are different aspects to the world then what I am accustomed to. The realization process has allowed me to understand that this is a special time in my life where I will continue to figure out my different views, perspectives, and ideas about my life. I should not rush and jump to conclusions about myself because there is still so much to learn. That is why I titled my paper, Respect the Work and the Process. …show more content…
There has not been a period over this past semester where a big light bulb moment had occurred and I instantly changed the way I felt about something. However, I also am aware that I have experienced situations where my concepts about a certain aspect of education have been put into question. What I will be discussing in this paper is my individual journey in education. I will discuss the situations I have come across during my time in this course, the feelings and concepts I already believe I have, and even the parts of my different concepts that I believe have started to be changed. I will also ensure to relate those beliefs and situations to the concept of change and the theories that have been researched about
