Mrs. Ceci was the first teacher who brought me out of my shell. Her language arts class was based on developing organization and learning how to communicate. She encouraged me to outline my thoughts before I started my essays. I also participated in her forensics club, a program that improved my public speaking and debate skills. Additionally, forensics club allowed me to write my opinions on paper the same way I voice them. She gave us her expectations and let us be in charge of our own work. She also believed in peer editing. This enhanced my writing because by correcting other people's mistakes, I was able to see what I needed to avoid. On the reverse, receiving people's feedback allowed me to tailor my writing to various audiences. Ms. PientaI's class did not constrict my writing. She left us accountable for our papers and topics. This opened up many options for me. I started to think differently and became more educated by reading articles. This gave me the chance to see what others thought about the topic of which I was writing. By having the freedom to write, I started to see that I could potentially enjoy writing. As a science major, I did not think it was
