Reflective Essay: My Learning Experience

Decent Essays
English 2010 has been a learning experience for me, I've been able to learn a lot about english that I did not know or work on before. With the first essay that we worked on I did a memoir I really enjoyed working on this paper, In class we were able to get freedom to add pictures to are pictures make it a little bit more creative I certainly was not used to this; I’ve been told my whole schooling experience that you have the intro and the conclusion and three body paragraphs. The memoir I was able to write to what I felt like I needed it to be, add pictures so it could appeal more to the eye when reading and also made it easier.

I had a hard time choosing what to do the paper on I first was going to do a position paper but as I was writing It by itself became more of a position/proposal paper, this paper wasn't super hard for me, it was a learning experience.
The last and final thing we did in the class was a group multimodal project, in my eyes group projects are always good because you learn to work with people and there many different talents and abilities, some experiences can be bad but in my case the group project went really well we discussed in a prezi powerpoint how to be comfortable in your own skin we as a group talked a lot about how social media has affected girls and boys and how they see themselves.
Over all this class was great for me I was able to try new things with papers that I never had the chance to do before. Was able to be a lot more creative and think outside of the box and papers, I learned that some things work really well and some stuff I tried did not. I'm glad that I was able to experience this class with Professor Sue Briggs and my classmates everything I learned in the class is going to help me later in life and my

As a student of the College in the Schools program, the class WRIT 1301 has provided me the opportunity to improve my writing and prepare me more effectively for college. During this semester course I worked with peers to improve not only my own writing, but also improved my analysis of peer works of similar structure. My first paper, a narrative titled Confessions of A Living Sin, was arguably the easiest piece to create, while simultaneously being the most difficult to write. Narrative pieces push writers to write of moments that are strong in emotion, and often times leave the writer vulnerable to whom is reading their work. For me, my vulnerability was discussing the ostracism I faced as a queer and transgender person in a conservative…

The process of the research paper that was most challenging was organizing the paper. The reason organizing the paper was hard because I had to decide what was important information and how much of the information should I explain in depth. For example, my paper is about the history and benefits of Planned Parenthood, I had to go through and make sure I add extra information on events that led to the building of the first Planned Parenthood and recent history that was important to add. The process of the research paper that was most challenging was basically figuring out the flow my paper should be in for the reader to understand.…

For my Pre-AP English class, I was asked to write a paper on something that affected high school students. The topic I chose was depression. I chose this topic because it's not something that is openly talked about. Many students suffer depression in silence so I wanted to find ways to help them, and educate their friends and family members so they know how to help. I am very proud of this paper because I was able to educate myself on ways to help people, and I got an A on it, which was an added bonus.…
