The creation of the United States had to start with someone migrating to the North American continent. So my question is why is America, a country made up of immigrants, so xenophobic of Mexican immigrants? Xenophobia is the intense or irrational dislike or fear of people from other countries. I don 't believe all Americans are xenophobic but, a good amount of this country is. I believe that most of these Americans who are xenophobic forget that even they themselves are of some kind of immigrant descent. This is what makes the fear and dislike so irrational. People who are afraid or have this irrational dislike against immigrants are usually scared that the immigrants will take jobs or resources, are influenced by political leaders and media,

Migrants are stakeholders because they 're the ones affected by this issue and the ones who affect the issue. They 're the ones who care the most compared to any of the other stakeholder. Their lives are in the hands of all the other stakeholders and they migrants are the ones who also make the initial decisions to cross into America and try to trust these people who have these policies to keep them out or make it difficult to let them stay. Border patrol and the overall government are also stakeholders, they 're the ones who make the policies and enforce them. Border patrol can decide how to treat someone who is crossing the border. In the border patrol detaining centers the conditions of the facility have been reported to be awful. There are filthy conditions with poor quality food, cramped spaces, and even reports of sexual molestation at the hands of some of the border patrol agents. A vast majority that says they have been abused did not file complaints (Morrison). I can only come to the assumption that it was possibly out of fear, fear of consequences and not being believed. The reports link the border patrol and government to condign power, winning submission through threat and fear (Galbraith 4). Lastly, the current presidential candidates are also stakeholders. A lot of the debates happening have had immigration policy and promises at the forefront. These candidates are planning and hoping to run this country, the influence on the general public is huge.
