The article coming from The new yorker lacked the conservative side of the argument completely, focusing much more on the protestors against deportation, while the CNN article mentions both sides of the story. The CNN articles headline supports the deportation of illegal immigrants but also mentions that the DACA’s DREAMers are safe in this country. The New Yorker’s headline solely focuses on the bad that comes from the new laws being put into place and sets the entire mood of the article into place. The word choice of a headline is what grabs a reader's attention. Due to the wording of both articles, the reader will get two completely different feelings before reading.
Bias in the media and news is everywhere, to be an effective reader is to be able to point out and examine the different forms of bias to determine the credibility of an article. In the case of the NY and CNN articles, despite both having forms of bias, the CNN article is much more reliable and credible than the New Yorker article. In that it is more fair in sharing both sides of the story as well as having less forms of bias in it's
