Offering a global health experience with another graduate program in the College of Health Professions is an asset to faculty, students, and curriculum enhancement. The PH 660 course will be available to both PH and OT students in conjunction with a domestic/or international service learning trip.

1. Public health programs at the local level are offering generalist/online programs that do not offer emphasis areas at all. At GVSU we are still offering a program with a more specific public health skill set than our competition. The remaining two emphasis areas (Epidemiology and Health Promotion) are the leading areas in the field offered and the most popular among applicants to our program. Regionally and nationally public health programs offer both generalist programs as well as emphasis-specific curriculum. The emphasis areas offered can be across the discipline and in a variety of areas. We have found that very few students are interested in and apply to the administration emphasis
