I’m also working on finishing my MPH with dual concentration of epidemiology and biostatistics here at USF College of public health, because those knowledges and skills are critical for being a successful clinical researcher. After I finish my MPH in spring 2016, I’m planning to continue my study in Dr.PH program at USF, not only because I enjoy to be a life time learner, but also because it will provide me essential knowledges and skills to bridge the clinical study to clinical practice. With the new researches and technologies occur in a fast pace nowadays, I think continuing education is essential in the public health practice field which allows public health professionals to stay up to date on competencies, skills and knowledges required in the field. It’s also play an important role on a successful professional development. I choose USF public health program to meet my continuing education needs because, first of all, I’m working here, it’s so convenient for me to study and work in the same place, I can apply my newly learned knowledge and skills to my work right away. Secondly, USF public health program is ranking a top 16 public health program in the nation and I’m very proud to be part of it. The third one, also the most important reason for me to choose this program is that its online format gives me the flexibility to study on my own pace and fit my own schedule, which allows me to continue working while pursuing

I can vividly remember the first time I was able to show that knocking out an isoform of the Musashi gene led to fewer and smaller tumors on the intestines of mice, only after 5 months of work. I have always been intrigued by the ability of medicine to not only decrease mortality but also decrease morbidity through research. Recently, I have been testing new drug therapies in mice used as models of human cancers. To be involved in the translational science spectrum of medicine has further inspired me to pursue a career in medicine.…
