In modern world, social media is developing fast and have gained astonishing worldwide growth and popularity which led to attract attentions from varieties of different age groups. Among them, teenagers and young adults are the extreme users of the social networking sites which causes the significant impacts on them. Social media means they are forms of electronic communication through which people create online communities to share information, ideas, personal messages and other contents. Examples of these social network medias are Facebook, Instagram, twitter, YouTube and others. When using these sites, it has both positive and negative impacts on mainly the teenagers who have daily intersections with. The positive effects are improvements …show more content…
Even studying in class, but they do not focus on studying. While the professors are teaching, students are using cellphones to surf Facebook, Instagram or chat with friends on Messenger. They always check their cellphones every five minutes to see what is going on social media. If the young use social media in classes, how can they listen to the professors and understand what professors are saying? Moreover, not only at school but also at home these young students who are addicted to social media do not do exercise or read the new lesson before going to school, because they are busy with social media. Thus, this has lead them to absent classes and not doing the homework, assignments. Addiction to social media causes a bad habit in studies. Secondly, people who addicted to the social media can’t separate time from reality. Using these websites all day, they will not have the enough time for outdoor activities such as playing sport or doing exercise. Instead of going out to meet with friends or family members, staying at home and chatting with them. Not enough making body movements such as exercise can cause the health problem. But also, being addicted to social media, teenagers will go to bed late to read posts on Facebook or chat with friends. Staying up late is really harmful to the health, especially to the brain. If the young do not sleep enough, their health will be affected seriously by losing weight or always feeling tired. Their brains also will not work effectively and they will be in sleepy condition. Moreover, addiction to social media can cause depression in the young. When the young use social media, they will see other people who are famous, talented and intelligent on social media and feel ashamed of themselves.
