Once teens get that first smartphone or TV it can begin to consume their life and push out other worthwhile activities.Entertainment screen time gets so integrated within teens’ lives that they just get used to being stopped for ten minutes to check social media. Teens and adults become so used to entertainment social media that they could miss special events. Such behavior can be compared to other addictions because with other addictions, such as drug addictions, all addicts focus on is trying to get more . Adicts don't focus on much else but getting the next fix. When teens start using a screen they get so engrossed that they start to forget other people, like friends, and athletes, like schoolwork or sports. Once they need that device to do something important they get side tracked by their friends post or a skype message and don't even get to the important thing they were trying to do. Teens’ addiction to social media start grows even stronger when dopamine comes into the situation. Dopamine is a chemical in that brain that increases peoples happiness about something that's already happy. Each time teens get a text or a navigation they get a dopamine squirt, till they see that navigation they start to crave it more and more till they finally see it. The Wii only has certain games like baseball and Just Dance that make them work out. Their most popular games like Super Smash Bros Brawl don’t involve physical activity, just the moving of their fingers. Second is that the Wii is incredibly outdated, it's been about ten years since it came out. That means that the Wii is almost a decade old. This means that people are guided more to get new systems that involve not physical activity. Another reason is that games make gamers more happy in their real life. Jane M. says that once a gamer beats something hard they they achieve an epic win which makes them a happier person overall. A epic win is when someone completes something so hard to their standard it changes their life and makes them a happier person. Achieving an epic win could be from anything. They could just finish homework and achieve an epic win. This shows that AAP should keep the same daily amount of screen time.
