Personal Narrative: The Beginner

One of the first videos that I watched on your channel was your playthrough of The Beginner’s Guide last summer. I started watching it a couple of hours after midnight and I did not once pause it. I remember feeling closer to you than to any other person in the world that night. I experienced stronger emotions than I had in weeks or maybe even months throughout the entirety of your play through.

I can't tell you that you saved my life or cured my depression that night or any night since, but you made me feel not alone. Usually, it's during these times, when the AM hits and suddenly I'm the only person left on the planet and my mind spirals, even when I'm too wrapped up in self pity to notice it. But for once, I wasn't just alone watching videos of people who felt a million light years away. I was with you, and you were with me, and we got to experience a beautiful work of art together, even if you would never see me or know that I existed as an individual. …show more content…
You and Girbeagly have given me the confidence and guts to finally allow myself to put my life into my work and take a chance on my passions. You gave me the chance that I never gave myself and now here I am, doing what I only dreamt of achieving one day, and developing my first original video
