First and foremost before anything else, I would like to thank you for your outstanding and courageous service to our country. I know that it was very tough to go off and fight for our country and at the same time leave your family behind at home. Anyways, I am writing you this letter to give you thanks for the impact your book. American Sniper, has had on me. There was a lot of information there about our country’s fellow servicemen and women and how they risk their lives every day. Although your book was mainly about life on the frontlines as a sniper and that most of the info in your book was about military matters, there were also many things that impacted me as a person very greatly.

Your story as America’s deadliest sniper is very interesting but also the way that you dealt with that title impacted me a whole lot. Even though you were once part of one of the most elite special operations forces in the world, you always seemed to reflect humbleness. That has also taught me to be humble. You have also impacted me with your selfless character and how

Believe it or not many people are not actually informed about what men and women in uniform go through every day. You have cleared up many questions for me that I have always wanted to ask a soldier. Not only did you offer me an insight into a soldier’s life, but an insight into a Navy S.E.A.L’s life which is very different. From the recruitment process, BUD/S training, Navy S.E.A.L sniper school, and last but not the least combat. You have provided a great deal of information on these things and so much more. This helps me understand the sacrifices that a soldier has to make every day. It’s not an easy job to be on the frontlines and risk one’s life every day. I feel like you have impacted me in this way by allowing me to see your life and for me to learn and therefore allowing me to better respect service members

American Sniper is a first person recollection, by Chris Kyle, of his experiences in war being a Navy SEAL and becoming known as one of the most lethal snipers in United States history. The book takes the form of an autobiography with Chris telling his story from growing up to retiring from the military, but throughout the book, through the use of intermittent dialogues by his wife Taya, Chris’ conflicting thoughts during his enlistment, and the emotions that the reader is meant to feel, he clearly sends the message of how military service affected his family but more specifically how it affect all military families. During the book, Chris Kyle’s wife Taya jumps in with her personal thoughts about many different things but more often than…

In his article “The Tragedy of the American Military”, James Fallows discusses how the majority of the American public holds the military in high esteem, but has little to no knowledge about military affairs. In turn, the United States is more likely to go to war and turn a blind eye towards sound military spending. Although I agree with the author on most of his arguments, I do not completely agree with all of them. The author states that the press does not voice public skepticism about the military as they do about other American institutions. I believe that the public is in more in touch with other institutions that have a direct effect on them.…
