My Personal Leadership Philosophy and How it has Developed As a leader I am very unique. I hold strong personal values in the areas of trust, respect, and responsibility. I believe that no one person should be responsible for someone else, but that we have to grow up and learn to take care of ourselves. Prior to this course, I perceived leaders as people who told a group of people what to do in order to accomplish a task. When I was put in a leadership position I was always effective, but I never really took the thoughts or feelings of others into consideration.…
The purpose of providing you with my leadership philosophy is to convey what is important to me and how it will affect our relationship not only on a professional level but also on a personal level. I have served in the US Army for a little over 16 years in the Active Component as well as the Army Reserves. I started off at Fort Bragg, NC with the 27th Engineer Battalion (Combat) (Airborne) as an Automate Logistics Specialist (92A) working in the Direct Support Unit (DSU) at the motor pool. Considering being stationed at Fort Bragg, I was one of a few airborne qualified females in a sea of men. I experienced what we would call toxic leadership and that showed me what I did not want to be.…

As I move forward in my career as an educational leader, my aspiration is to emulate the characteristics of a successful leader. Success in education can be measured every day in every school when the beliefs of the leader are reflected in the students and the staff. I aspire to be an innovative leader that motivates people to be courageous and open-minded to tackle the hard tasks. Furthermore, I hope to be a transformative leader that becomes a role-model to their peers by doing rather than saying. I will become this leader by being consistent with my communication skills, making responsible decisions that display my integrity and always keeping in mind that student achievement is my number one purpose.…
It is important for me to focus, observe and listen actively to both healthcare professionals and patients. For example, when dealing with patients, I should always show respect by listening and not interrupting when they are speaking. Whenever possible, I can also provide a few empathy statements to show that I care about them. An example of an empathy statement that I would give to a claustrophobic patient who is afraid of the enclosed space inside the MRI machine, “ I understand that you are worried about this examination, but do not worry, I will be giving you a blindfold so that you are not aware of the environment.” Therefore, listening actively to a patient helps them to be more open and trusting towards me (Liz,…

All these experiences has helped to shape who I am as a leader and has helped to create my leadership philosophy. In this essay I will expound on the value of respect, just one of my personal values that I feel is the center of my leadership style and philosophy.…
Philosophy of Leadership Development I have seen different types of leadership development, but in my opinion, leadership that incorporates discipleship is the best way to develop leaders. The Bible demonstrates this kind of leadership. Moses, Nathan, and Jesus use this kind of leadership philosophy. These men took time to allow God to pour into their personal lives and then allowed God to use them to pour into the lives of those He had placed in their lives.…

Leadership does not mean you are always the smartest or have the most technique in band but as a leader you know how to set the example and work hard at being one of the best. According to dictionary.com a leader is “a guiding or directing head, as of an army, movement, or political group”. A leader is one who will make a mistake then admit that they made the mistake. Leadership Reflection Leadership is one of the most widely talked about subjects and at the same time one of the most elusive and puzzling. I cannot express my lament and hate for this subject ever since I apply to business school at ECU. I am not dismissing leadership is unnecessary but the opposite. In this current chaotic world leadership is imperative to the communities, companies, the military, unions, universities, sports teams, and for the nation. However, we have a hypocritical love/hate views about power wielders and dislike anyone who tries to boss us around.…
. Leadership is regularly written about in the hopes that people will read and be able to apply those things written to become minimally effective at leading. Timing, assuming a person has a working knowledge of all the aforementioned helps to create a progression towards an effective leadership environment. To create and sustain an effective environment to accomplish things not normally pursued by individuals takes more than working knowledge.…
