Respect is a value I learned at a very young age. I was taught to respect those around me whether it was at home, at school or with a stranger out and about. As I grew older and gained more experiences, I found that I was drawn to and had a desire to follow those leaders who showed respect to others. I enjoyed being around them. They earned my trust and I was willing to do the tasks they needed me to accomplish. As a new specialist to the unit, SFC Perkins always took the time to make sure I was set up for success. If he saw an area where I was lacking he would take the time to train me. If there was an opportunity for me to grow he would make sure I was involved. He also took the time to get to know me and my interest outside of work. He always listened to my opinions and treated me in a way that I felt
