Ms. Torres should have a meeting with Kayla’s parents and propose interventions that can help her excel. General educators “must be knowledgeable about and involved in the individual education plan for a student with a disability.” (Weishaar, p.97) Academic intervention is necessary and should be administered as part of her academic plan.
