Paraprofessional Roles

I would make sure that my paraprofessional is well aware of what his or her role are within the classroom and also what they are responsible for and whom. Some roles that they could help take a part in, within the classroom is that they can help find resources to implement within the room, but it is ultimately, me as the teacher’s ultimate decision. It is good to get other ideas too, because they are a part of the room as well. A responsibility, that I could let them know that they are in charge of is, supervising students. This can range from different things, but a couple may be, hall duty, bus duty, lunch duty, and other activities that go on. Another role that I could let them know they are asked is to support the individual students’ needs. This can vary from student to student, but the main focus would be, helping the student with organization, transitions, or how to do a certain assignment. Another responsibility may be, providing personal care for a student. This may include, helping in the bathroom or if they happen to have medical issues like a feeding tube.

I would let them know that I am not only here to supervise them, but I am here for there. Especially, to give them encouragement, feedback, and some structure so they can be successful at their job. It is also a great idea as the teacher, to get a feel of what each of your Para’s strengths and weaknesses are so that you can put them, where you feel or think is best and were you think they will strive to be more successful and be a great asset to your classroom as well. Make sure you don’t pair up Paras and students that will butt heads, because they usually cause problems and issues and the student and Para will most likely, will be miserable, upset, and not very

The medical assistant could try to distract the child with conversation to allow the mother to get the forms filled out. That may not work because the child is clearly acting out and destroying things so the assistant could be in danger if she got too close. Or maybe there is a room that the mother or child could go into so the mother could have a few minutes of distraction free time to get the paperwork filled out. The best option I came up with is for the medical assistant to take the family into a private room and help the mother fill out the paperwork. The mother could have ahold of her child while the assistant asks the questions and writes the answers.…

Medical Assistants are responsible for scheduling a patient for appointment. A patient may call to schedule an appointment, so the medical assistant must collect information including name, address, date of birth, home and cell numbers. Sanderson (2017) states, “When a patient phones the offices for an appointment, the appointment can be scheduled in Office Hours before the patient information is entered in Medisoft. In these instances, it is possible to enter an appointment before a chart number has been assigned to the patient, by entering the patient’s name in the field right of the chart field” (p. 102). The patient may also be asked for the reason of the visit.…

I am writting personally to request a cosideration for exemption from the requirement of the earned baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college for admission to the physician assistant (PA) program. I understand that the Physician Assistant program is highly competitive program, and that the fact of earning a baccalaureate from a regional institution is only one important indicator to determine a student’s potential for succes at a graduate level. However, there is always an exeption to the rule, and I believe I am a qualified not only to attend, but furthermore to succeed at a graduate program offerd at A.T. Still University (ATSU). I understand why the university does not accept equivalent degree from other fields of…

One of the other student nurses in my group told me that her nurses was not listening to what she was saying. The student nurse informed me she told the nurse that the patient’s pulse ox was 82 and the nurse did not address the concern. She said the nurse was looking at her, but started talking to the doctor who just walked in the room. A couple minutes later the nurse asked the student if she took the pulse ox.…

When there were not too many people, I usually would go to each person and worked with each individual. However, sometimes working with someone individually was difficult, especially when it was exam week for them, because there were so many people that it was challenging to explain each concept and problems one on one. During exam week, I would make my students sit in groups and ask them to help each other out first. Then, if someone or a couple of people still did not understand anything I would go over it with them together. Afterwards, I would give them practice exams, which I make beforehand to make sure they understand everything well enough to do well on the actual exam.…

Being cheerful and friendly keeping work schedules, performing tasks competently, and being helpful are all part of a professional approach.” As health care professionals it is important to show professionalism at all times.
