President Obama 's plan is to make the two-year college free for all the Americans. The students do not even need to sign up for the FAFSA or any other student aid applications for that two years. Then it shows the studies by the University of Georgetown that support this argument by statistics and facts. While we see the sign of recovery in the US economy, there is more than one trillion-dollar student debt. Because of these, so many students are choosing work over education, and some students adjust their schedules from full to half and even less. Most of the students are withdrawing from the school because of their job and the high college tuition. Free community college may not make the students not working at all, but it will help them to put a balance between their work and their studying because they do not have to worry about paying their debts or their tuitions. The removal of the tuition also helps them to pay for the transportation, child care, and food without worrying about the tuition. Free community colleges give an advantage to the people to get their associate degree, and by doing so, they can get better jobs with better benefits. Hence, the transition to four-year college would be easier for them because they can find better jobs, and of course, they just pay for two years of University. Also, this might influence many students to find a pathway and get their degrees. “Nearly a century ago, a movement that made high school widely available helped lead to rapid growth in the education and skill training of Americans, driving decades of economic growth and prosperity.” Thus, making community colleges free will have the same effect on the US economy, and for

Currently, the U. S. does not have many affordable colleges and universities for the population to have the privilege to attend; strive for their dream careers, and have the life people have every right to reach. Mentioned in the article “College Affordability and Completion: Ensuring a Pathway to Opportunity” from the U. S. Department of Education, “too many recent college graduates feel the weight of their student loan payments holding them back from fulfilling their full potential.” Jobs will widely expand for graduates. Except, instead of working on their dreams the graduates will end up working so hard just to pay back their education. This will motivate young adults to exceed further and have an exceptional chance in becoming strong successful citizens in the future.…

Education For Everyone Education is something that everyone should be able to have. Knowledge is not something that should be for sale. Everyone should be able to have equal opportunity. This is why there should be no cost for receiving a college education. The general argument made by Carol Roth in the article “Free Community College Isn’t Free...and it’s a Bad Idea” is that saying that college will be free when it really won’t, and it will cause more problems and evidently not solve any current problems.…

In the article Michele Siqueiros says “The promise of free tuition cold make the problem worse by drawing more students to already crowded…

“Never in my life would I have expected community colleges to be called potential saviors of the economy,” says George Boggs. There have been misconceptions on the validity of Community Colleges and why it might be an option to some people. Parents, institutions, and the general public see this life option as second best but what most do not realize is that Community Colleges serve as more than a “second tier” institution, but as a metaphorical fallback net. The assumption is that most students leave high school and their parents are able and willing to continue investing in their education but most do not take in consideration of those who fall short of these financial requirements, those who are not ready to take the leap to the next step…

In today’s society, a college degree is more often encouraged than not for students soon to graduate from high school or older adults looking to further themselves in the work force. Employers are even more likely to hire an applicant if they have a degree in the field. Unfortunately, as swiftly as the demand for college degrees increases so does the cost for a college education. A growing number of students have to turn away from furthering their education because the cost is much too steep. Reducing college tuition fees and expenses will encourage more students to pursue higher education, making them more qualified for the job market and will, in turn, improve the US economy.…

“If higher education at public schools becomes free, it might appear to devalue a college diploma. It might also lead to students cutting more classes or not trying because they don’t have to “get their money’s worth” when they aren’t paying for anything. The current price of college drives students to complete their schooling as quickly as possible so as to reduce debt. Without that financial drive, we might see more laziness and lackadaisical behavior from our students” (College Raptor).
