President Barack Obama has released a proposal of making community college free but it’s very controversial because its just limited to the community colleges. Overall a community college is not that expensive as a CSU, UC, or private. Thus making a community college free would be pointless if the student has to move on to a university where they have to pay. In the article “As He Promotes It, Some Question Obama’s Free Community College Idea” by Joanne Jacobs published in February 23, 2015, Jacob explains the idea of several resources and they all have different opinions but what I agree with is that of the ones that are against it. At the time that article was written I was in my second semester of my junior year thus I really didn’t care much, but now that I am going to a university next semester I care deeply. As recieved my acceptances I allowed the price determine my decision. At this day in age a high school diploma is not enough, thus a degree is as necessity as a high school diploma was needed back then. As Jacobs quoted Bezerra a college student “ I don’t know how I’ll afford to finish my bachelor’s degree,” he said. “ It’s so expensive. I wish the president could keep college cost down for universities.” Bezerra a college student himself doesn't want that because it’s not convenient. The community college student would get free education but then they have to move on to a university where they would not have to pay.
