Choosing a degree path is a being decision and should not be taken lightly. More and more jobs are requiring degrees. Students then have to choose whether or not they want online or traditional courses. In fact, “77% of educators believe that online learning is just as good as traditional learning, if not better.” This means that a student could choose to attend an online course and receive the same benefits, if not better, than that of traditional courses. Traditional and online courses are very different yet very much alike. When comparing and contrasting online verses traditional courses one must look into the understanding of the work, time management, and responsibility. Online courses are starting to become more popular now days. They differ from traditional courses in many ways. For example, understanding the work could be challenging. A teacher is not present when the student is doing the work. If a question needs to be asked then the student must contact the teacher through email. The work will be presented to the student through a power point, word document, or a video. It is up to the student to be able to understand the work in the way it has been presented. Another example would be time management. With online courses the student can work at their own pace as long as the work is turned in by the due date set.
